21st Annual Wild Game Dinner

Dear Football Booster Club Supporter,

It is hard to believe that we are back for our 21st Annual Wild Game Dinner. Although, I could never
thank you enough, I want to begin by saying Thank You for your committed and continued support of
our Football Program. I am continually amazed of the support our program receives from parent,
alumni, and community members. To me, this is one of the many things that make the Allen Park
Football program so special. As a proud alumni, coach, teacher, and community member, I thank you
for your generosity. This program has always been about “Family” for players. I see the alumni and our
supporters as extended family. Our coaching staff feels that every year our family continues to grow as
seniors become alumni and new players enter the program. We are truly blessed to coach in this
wonderful community full of support.

Although this year’s team fell short of their goals on the field they still were successful both on and off
the field. The team finished 5-4 just missing the playoffs. They never quit and continued to battle
adversity. Off the field the team earned Academic All-State Honorable Mention. These young men have
learned valuable life lessons through the game of football including teamwork, work ethic,
perseverance, and overcoming adversity. They have also learned to give back to their community. They
helped spread mulch at playgrounds, assisted setting up and taking down Street Fair, and adopted a
couple of families for Christmas. We are proud of all of these young men and consider the season a
success both on and off the field. It really does take a village and the support we have received has a
positive influence on the program and these young men.

If you are an alumni, parent, or supporter, please join us this year for a night of comradery, fun, and to
share some stories of the past at the 21st annual Wild Game Dinner. For those of you who have attended
or donated in the past, thank you, we could not do it without you. It is an incredible event every year
that is both fun and beneficial in raising support. This year’s dinner will be held on Friday, March 9th at
the American Legion Post 409 hall located at 6737 Allen Road, Allen Park, Michigan. Doors open at
6:00pm. Please come out for a great night and support our Jaguar Football “Family”.
This year, as in the past seasons, the Football committee will be awarding a $1,000.00 scholarship to a
graduating senior football player.

The support that we have received from previous donors, dinner patrons, and raffle/auction participants
makes this annual event a very successful and truly fun night for our attendees.
Respectfully,
Head Coach, Tom Danosky & Allen Park Jaguar Football Coaching Staff

Chief Deputy Superintendent Sheila Alles visits APHS

Thursday, January 18th, Chief Deputy Superintendent Sheila Alles visited APHS.  A special thank you to Karen Moran, who worked out a wonderful tour that showcased our school, students and staff.  Ms. Alles had a lot of great things to say about our school.  She mentioned how clean it is, how polite the students are, and how clear it was to her the amount of pride our teachers have and our level of investment.  She visited Mrs. West in the auditorium, Mr. Goulasarian, who presented her with a cutting board made by our students.  Also on the tour was a stop with Mr. Jenkins, Mr. King, Mr. Danosky, then finished up with Mrs. McKinzie and Ms. Gabon in the Media Center and a surprise mini reunion with Mrs. Mang.

In every spot, Ms. Alles saw great teaching and learning on display, and it was clear to her that what she saw was a regular occurrence, not something special put on for a guest.  The only regret we have is that she did not have more time to see more of our fantastic teachers at work!

Michigan Department of Education- Parent Dashboard

The Michigan Department of Education has just released their new Parent Dashboard for School Transparency.  The Dashboard will show a school’s data compared to the data of demographically comparable schools and the state average.  We encourage you to visit to see how APHS is doing.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all our Jaguar families!  Time definitely flies–has it really been 18 years since we were worried about the Y2K buy bringing all computer systems to a crashing halt?  Let’s make 2018 a great year at Allen Park High School by staying in touch with each other.  If you need anything, please do not hesitate in contacting a teacher, administrator, or counselor.
